Credit Cards, PayPal accounts

All payments to Pristine Classical are processed securely by PayPal. You do not need a PayPal account to make a purchase - you can elect to pay directly by credit card as long as your e-mail address is not already registered in the PayPal system.

PayPal is regarded by online security experts as a much safer system of payment than that offered by most other online card payment systems. Your card details remain secure and cannot be accessed by Pristine Classical at any time.

A recent (April 2008) survey of major UK online retailers revealed that only 14% were fully compliant with accepted financial data security standards, according to an article in The Guardian. A notable comment from one of the experts was quoted in the article:

For Donal Casey, principal consultant at systems integrator Morse, the most trustworthy websites don't take credit card information at all. "I'm more interested in sites that use things like PayPal or Google Checkout because I don't necessarily want to give my card details out," he says.

eCheck payments

Please note that although an eCheck payment may seem immediate from your perspective, PayPal treats these like any other check - and they can take days or weeks to clear. Because PayPal witholds these payments until they are cleared our systems cannot process download or CD orders until this has happened.

We strongly recommend avoiding the use of eChecks, especially for downloads.

Shopping baskets for downloads and CDs

Our CD orders are handled directly by PayPal. However, our download orders are initially processed by Payloadz, our download service provider, which passes your order on to PayPal once you're ready to go to the checkout. This allows you to add in any download discount codes you may be entitled to use.

The two shoppings baskets operate independently - you cannot mix CDs and downloads in the same transaction.

Depending on your browser the shopping basket will open either in a new tab or a new window. If you wish to add further products to your order simply return to the window or tab that has our website open and continue navigating our site. Further selections will be added to the cart in your open shopping basket window, which can be returned to at any time. Under normal circumstances your basket contents will be memorised for future visits unless removed or purchased.

Completing your purchase

When you're happy with your shopping basket contents and have applied any download discounts you're entitled to, head to the checkout by clicking on the checkout button on the shopping basket page. Download orders paid for by credit card, debit card or PayPal account are handled immediately, and you'll be redirected to your download page once payment is complete. A confirmation e-mail with a link to this page will also be sent to the e-mail address you use for PayPal.

CD orders are handled in order of receipt. Please ensure your address details are current! As a small operation we cannot necessarily handle all CD orders immediately - please contact us if you have a specific deadline requirement.
